A power vent water heater uses an electric blower motor to push exhaust gases out through PVC, ABS, or CPVC pipe — either horizontally through a wall or vertically through the roof. Unlike atmospheric (chimney) water heaters, power vent units don't rely on natural draft, giving you far more flexibility in where you install the tank.
