Terms of Service

These terms keep things clear between us when you use our website, request a quote, or book service. They are written in plain language — if anything is unclear, just ask.

Agreement to these terms

These terms of service ("terms") apply to your use of the H&C Heating and Cooling website at handc.ca and to how we handle quote requests and bookings made through it. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site — you can always reach us by phone instead.

When we perform work at your home or business, that work is governed by the written quote, invoice, or service agreement we provide for the job. If anything in those documents conflicts with these terms, the job-specific documents win.

Who we are

H&C Heating and Cooling ("H&C", "we", "us") is a family-run HVAC company serving the Greater Toronto Area since 2008. We are TSSA-licensed for gas work, members of HRAI, and fully licensed and insured.

Website information is general, not advice

The content on this site — including buyer's guides, product pages, pricing ranges, and rebate information — is provided for general information. Every home is different: equipment sizing, installation cost, and what you qualify for depend on an in-person assessment. Nothing on this site is a binding offer, and we may correct errors or update content at any time.

A safety note: in Ontario, work on natural gas and propane appliances (furnaces, boilers, gas water heaters) must legally be performed by TSSA-licensed technicians. Please don't attempt gas, refrigerant, or high-voltage electrical work yourself — call a licensed professional.

Quotes and estimates

Prices shown or discussed before a site visit are estimates only. A quote becomes final when we've confirmed it in writing after assessing the job, and written quotes are valid for the period stated on them (or 30 days if none is stated).

A quote may need to change if we discover conditions that weren't visible or disclosed when it was prepared — for example hidden ductwork issues, code deficiencies, or equipment access problems. We'll always explain any change and get your approval before proceeding with additional work.

Booking, rescheduling & cancellations

You can request service through the booking form on our site (powered by Jobber), by email, or by phone. Submitting a request is not a confirmed appointment until we've confirmed it with you.

If you need to reschedule or cancel, please give us as much notice as you can — ideally 24 hours. We extend the same courtesy: if weather, emergencies, or parts availability force us to reschedule, we'll let you know as early as possible.

Payment

Payment terms for each job are set out on your quote or invoice. We accept cash, credit, debit, and financing on approved credit. Invoices are payable when the work is completed unless your quote says otherwise, and overdue balances may accrue interest at the rate stated on the invoice.

Warranties

Equipment we install is covered by the manufacturer's warranty, which we register on your behalf where the manufacturer allows. Manufacturer warranty terms — coverage, duration, and conditions such as annual maintenance requirements — are set by the manufacturer, not by H&C.

We stand behind our workmanship. If something we installed or repaired isn't right because of our work, tell us and we'll make it right. Workmanship coverage details for your job are stated on your quote or invoice.

Warranties don't cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, unauthorized repairs by others, power surges, or lack of required maintenance.

Rebates and government programs

We're glad to help you identify and apply for rebates you may qualify for (for example, Ontario's Home Renovation Savings Program or Enbridge programs). Program rules, eligibility, funding, and timelines are controlled by the program administrators and can change without notice. We can't guarantee approval or payment of any rebate, and rebate amounts shown on our site reflect programs as we understood them on the date the page was last updated.

Third-party services and links

Parts of our site rely on third-party services — our booking form is provided by Jobber, and we link out to services like Google reviews. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We're not responsible for the content or practices of third-party sites we link to.

Our content

The content on this site — text, photos, graphics, and the H&C name and logo — belongs to H&C Heating and Cooling or its licensors. You're welcome to browse, print, or share pages for personal, non-commercial use. Please don't republish or scrape our content, or use our name or logo, without written permission.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, H&C is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of this website — for example, losses caused by site downtime, errors in general content, or third-party services we link to.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, and nothing takes away rights you have under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act or other consumer protection legislation. Our responsibility for the service work we perform at your property is set out in your quote or service agreement.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply in Ontario. Any dispute about these terms or the website will be resolved in the courts of Ontario.

Changes to these terms

We review these terms periodically and post the current version on this page, with the date it was last updated. Your continued use of the site after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
